Administration

Laura is Team Lead for the Administration Department. There is six members of staff within the team. The Administrative duties within the department are many. This includes handling results, processing and filing hospital letters and reports and dealing with patient records that come in and out of the building. You can obtain results via the results line between the hours of 10am-1pm.

Reception

Julie and Rachel share the role of Reception Lead with 25 years shared experience. We have a team of 13 care navigators who work a variety of shift patterns.

The main purpose of our role is to oversee the navigation of you, as our patient to the most appropriate appointment. The care navigators may need to be aware of the nature of your call so that they can deal with your needs in the most appropriate manner. Anything that is discussed with care navigators is treated in strictest confidence.

The team is also responsible for processing prescription requests ready for clinician authorisation, new patient registrations and dealing with any correspondence that may arrive via various avenues.

We also deal with many requests from our professional colleagues such as the district nursing team, hospitals, 111 and pharmacies.

Secretaries

We have 4 secretaries within the team who have worked at Churchdown Surgery for many years. We each work variable hours but there will always be a secretary here to help with patient queries each weekday morning.
Our main role is to process onward referrals from GP Practice to Secondary Care. We deal with referral related queries from patients and liaise with other professionals, both NHS and
private. Our aim, as a team, is to provide help and support to our patients to ensure good patient care at all times.
