I was born in South Africa before moving to the UK aged 14. I trained at St Mary’s Hospital in London, qualifying in 1998, and where I met my wife Emma who also works as a GP at Churchdown. We have 3 children and moved to Gloucestershire in 2010 after 6 years working as GPs in rural Australia. I feel very fortunate to have joined the Churchdown Practice team in 2018. We are very focused on improving patient care and this fits with my wider roles in the NHS around working with patients and system partners to help make care safer and better. My clinical areas of interest include men’s health, older people and people who have dementia.

I grew up in London and trained at Bristol, qualifying in 1990. I worked as a GP in London, Cardiff and Brighton before moving to Gloucestershire in 2005. I am committed to providing a high quality, personalised care and am passionate about supporting people to look after their own health and wellbeing. I am a GP trainer and proud to be part of the expanding teaching team at Churchdown as we support the next generation of doctors, nurses, and other health care professionals. I am the Clinical Director of our Primary Care Network, working closely with neighbouring practices on projects such as the Covid vaccination programme.
I am excited to be leading a project to develop a group of volunteer Health Champions and look forward to working more closely with our community in the future.
I also have an interest in global health and have been to Nepal twice as a volunteer with PHASE Worldwide, to supervise and mentor health workers in remote Himalayan communities. I am married to Paul, a neurologist, and as our children fly the nest we are enjoying the opportunity to spend more time exploring the Cotswolds both on foot and by bike (in my case on an e-bike!). Visiting our children in various places around the UK and Europe also keeps us busy!
